The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and skills required of personnel so classified.
Responsible for evaluating and providing psychiatric-nursing services to patients suffering from late-life depression. Utilizing strong and precise decision making and judgment skills.
Conduct weekly visits with patients to evaluate medications, conduct counseling sessions and address needs. Providing timely and accurate documentation of the patient’s status with strong attention to detail.
Work closely and in conjunction with members of the interdisciplinary team in weekly case conferences to ensure patient is cared for both physically and mentally to achieve the best outcomes.
Provide consultation to physicians, psychiatrist, psychologist and other health care providers regarding plan of care.
Required Skills
Up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric medications, in regards to proper use and any known interactions with other medications.
Knowledge of Medicare, and other third-party guidelines, rules, and regulations preferred but not required.
Prior Home Care experience is preferred but not required.
Must have valid state driver’s license, reliable transportation and auto insurance.
Must have the ability to function autonomously and possess effective time management skills.
Ability to exercise strong judgment skills.
Absolute love of patient care!
Required Experience
Associates or bachelor degree in nursing.
Current and unrestricted RN license in state of agency operation.
Minimum of two years of experience working with psychiatric or behavioral health patients.
Current CPR certification.
Must have valid state driver’s license, reliable transportation and auto insurance.
