The Heart Institute at Vidant Medical Center has world-class registered nurses - add your name to the list!Vidant Medical Center ! is a fully accredited, 900+ bed regional facility encompassing a Level 1 Trauma Center and extensive inpatient and outpatient services including intensive and intermediate care, pediatrics, bariatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology, surgery, pain management and psychiatry.Cardiac ICU at Vidant Medical CenterCardiac ICU (CICU) is a 20 Bed cardiac intensive care with primary focus on ST elevated MIs. Additional patient population includes CHF, cardiac arrest with hypothermia, cardiogenic shock, and MICU overflow pts. Technologies include temporary pacing, IABP, Arctic SUN, Hemodynamic monitoring Impellas and ventilators. Cardiac ICU (CICU) has the lowest turnover rate of any inpatient nursing unit at Vidant Medical Center, 35% of our staff are certified and 53 percent have there BSN. We have flexible scheduling and promote CCRN certification. Position Summary for Staff Nurse â€" RN - Cardiac ICU (CICU)The Registered Nurse (RN) will deliver direct, quality patient care, utilizing a basic clinical skill level and knowledge base. The Registered Nurse (RN) is to provide proficient, age specific, professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with legal, hospital practice and departmental policies and procedures, established standards of nursing care and practice, and as defined by the state of North Carolina.The Registered Nurse (RN) will participate in Quality Improvement Activities. The Registered Nurse (RN) attends educational programs and staff orientation which promotes personal and professional development.
BSN or ADN and current NC RN licensure or licensure from a compact st! ate is required. Hospital bedside nursing experience required. Experience with heart monitors, IABP, temp pacer, arctic sun, ventilators, impella device, regular swans and SV02 swans and inner cool caths is recommended. ICU experience highly preferred
