POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief of Behavioral Medicine will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team of University Health System and, as such, participates in the strategic planning for Behavioral Health Services. The CBM also leads behavioral health clinical initiatives, including new pro! gram development and ensures that the Health System?s Behavior! al Health Services provides quality and safe care in an environment that promotes continuous quality improvement in all aspects of service to its patients, staff, and community. In concert with Health System leadership, senior management team, physician leadership, and University Health System partners, this individual will identify clinical programming opportunities for Behavioral Health Services; collaborates with others in the Health System in efforts to optimize the use of informatics and quality data to improve clinical performance and patient management; collaborates with community partners to address the needs of the community?s behavioral health system of care; and fosters collaborative relationships with the Health System?s affiliated educational institutions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Medical degree required and must be Board Certified in Psychiatry. Ten years of increasingly responsible and successful management experience gained within well-managed ! public hospitals, community hospitals, teaching hospitals or integrated delivery systems. Physician with current clinical practice experience is preferred.
LICENSURE/CREDENTIALING
Must possess current license to practice medicine in the State of Texas. Must maintain appropriate credentialing and active privileges within the Health System and Community Medicine Associates.
