The El Paso VA Health Care System in El Paso,
Texas is recruiting for a full-time Supervisory Physician-Psychiatrist. The El
Paso VAHCS is part of VISN 18 Network, and is a standalone ambulatory care
facility with over 600 employees and growing. This opportunity offers a

clinic with working hours! from 8:00 am to 4:45 pm, Mondays through Fridays.

Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.

Must be proficient in written and spoken English DUTIES:
Duties include psychiatric evaluation, psychiatric medication
management, and coordination of the veteran's overall mental health care
(including referrals for psychotherapy and monitoring therapy progress) in accordance
with accepted professional standards and guidelines, VA policies and
p! rocedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Psychiatrist work closely with
colleagues to provide comprehensive, state-of-art outpatient mental health care
and the implementation of principles of Advance Clinic Access in mental health.
Documents clinical activity in the patientsÂ' medical records in a timely manner
per policies and procedures. The position
may require providing care through telehealth services, assess walk-in clinic
patients and teaching residents.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:BASIC REQUIREM ENTS:
U.S. citizenship. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. D egree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Colum! bia.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work is primarily sedentary where the employee
may sit comfortably but sometimes for extended periods, i.e., while attending
meetings. There is some walking, standing, carrying of items, i.e., medical
records and manuals. In general, the work does not require special physical
demands. Travel by car and/or air may be required as a part of outreach events
and/or training.
