The Opportunity
We are seeking energetic and compassionate Pediatricians to staff a premier quality outpatient clinics in Bell County - Killeen and Harker Heights, Texas. This is an unique opportunity to treat patients from a diversity of social & ethnic backgrounds & work for an organization composed of professionals dedicated to innovatively delivering quality healthcare to all.
The position would require a 50 hour clinical schedule, with one evening per week. Our site is staffed with a site manager, appropriate medical support staff, as well as front desk staff.

Qualified candidates must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency in pediatrics; possess current certification or be actively p! articipating in the examination process
leading to certifi! cation in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics; and hold current active licensure to practice as a physician in the State of Texas. A minimum of two years experience in an outpatient clinical setting as well as the ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish is preferred.

Lone Star of Circle of Care (LSCC) is a nonprofit, federally qualified community health center with clinics throughout Central Texas. We are committed to the pursuit of community-wide access to a behaviorally enhanced, patient-centered health care home that provides accountable care for all patients and a range of services, focusing on the underserved. We offer adult primary care, pediatric primary care, senior care, comprehensive OB/GYN services, general dentistry, psychiatry and behavioral health, vision services, and pharmacy services. We accept all Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare, and uninsured patients as wel! l as those with insurance.
Our Patients
In 2011, we provided nearly 300,000 patient visits. Approximately 50 percent of those patients are children and young people under the age of 20. Lone Star Circle of Care also meets the healthcare needs of pregnant women â€" delivering more than 1,200 babies last year â€" as well as seniors, working families, patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes and asthma, and many other patients who have difficulty finding access to health care.
Some of LSCC’s patients have public insurance (Medicaid, CHIP, etc.), but are unable to find a primary care doctor who will see them. Nearly 90 percent are underinsured or have no health insurance at all. Many of the uninsured are hardworking families that simply can’t afford coverage; in Texas 79 percent of uninsured adults work or have at least one working family member. Through Lone Star Circle of Care these hardworking Texans can obtain healthcare services that improve their ! lives and reduce the overall cost burden of the entire healthcare syste! m.
