Psychiatrist - (Psych) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 02/03/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
A Psychiatrist is needed for an immediate outpatient opportunity. The schedule is Monday-Friday 8a-5p, no weekends and no call. The physician will see adult patients; perform evaluations, consults and medication management. Psychiatrist will see approximately 16-20 patients seen per day. A psychiatr! ist (locum tenens) is a mental health professional, who focuses on preventing, diagnosing, and treating mental illness. After completing medical school, a psychiatrist must also complete a one year internship and three additional years of specialized training as a psychiatric resident. In the treatment of mental illness, a psychiatrist is licensed to prescribe medication. Some conditions requiring medication include; depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. A psychiatrist evaluates patients with mental illness and, in cases where medication is subscribed, often practices medication management.
Required Qualifications
Active Texas state license.
Complete Medicare and Medicaid application.
Open to board eligible and board certified candidates.
Preferred Qualifications
Comfortable treating adult patients.
