The UNT Health Science Center of Ft. Worth, TX is looking for a qualified Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist within the Department of Psychiatry of UNT|Health physician group. UNT|Health is one of the largest multi-specialty practices in Tarrant County, with approximately 180 physicians. UNT|Health works in over 40 clinics across Tarrant County and is committed to promoting and providing excellent patient care, education, and research. The Department of Psychiatry, over 20 practitioners, provides services for JPS Health Network (JPS) and the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (UNTHSC). The Department offers the following: Psychiatric Emergency Center (PEC) Acute Psychiatric Center (APC) Consult and Liaison Services (C&L) Inpatient Adult Services (38 beds) Inpatient Adolescent Services (16 beds) JPS Outpatient Behavioral Services o Stop Six o Viola Pitts (Como) o Northeast UNTHSC Outpatient Clinic ADHD Clinic Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic
JPS Health Network has a total of 70 beds, (54 adult and 16 adolescent) in the Psychiatry Unit. The full-time, state employed, faculty position as Assistant, Associate or Full Professor will provide leadership and administrative supervision of the clinical services, provide direct psychiatry services through the comprehensive evaluation; diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment of patients assigned to him/her, as well as participate in other administrative duties as assigned. These could include being a member of or chairing a Medical Staff Committee. The candidate must have interest in teaching Psychiatry Residents, Family Practice Residents and medical students assigned to the Department of Psychiatry and psychiatric staff Development training as assigned by the Chair. He/she must have interest in outpatient, inpatient and psychiatric emergency services, as well as adhere to Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Policies of the University of North Texas Health Science Center. The Psychiatrist must be Board Certified in specialty or have a prospective date to sit for their Boards. The candidate should expect to be on pager call once every three months. Bilingual Spanish/English or other foreign language is a plus. Candidate must be Texas Licensed by hire date.
UNT|Health provides competitive vacation time, sick time, 1 week and $3k CME, liability insurance, full health and retirement benefits, as well as opportunities to work in the Psych ER unit on Weekends for $1250/12 hour shift. Salary is competitive. There are opportunities for grand rounds all Fridays at the JPS Trinity Springs Pavilion. Medical students will be shadowing within patient rooms and Clinical Research and Community Service are encouraged.
