inpatient treatment, outpatient services, and partial hospitalization
programs for those suffering from psychiatric, behavioral health, or
chem! ical dependency issues. We provide a caring and calm environment
and treat all patients with respect and dignity. Our programs are
able to serve all ages including children, adolescents, adults, and
seniors. Specifically in regards to our inpatient programs, out
treatment center has 116 licensed acute care inpatients beds: 16 for
PICU, 18 for adult psych/16 chemical dependency, 16 for geriatric
care, 16 for adolescent boys, 18 for adolescent girls, and 16 for
children. All of our physicians are board certified in general
psychiatry. In addition we have three board certified physicians in
addiction psychiatry, three in geriatric psychiatry, and two in
forensic psychiatry.
The Director of Human Resources is
responsible to plan, organize and direct Human Resources activities
for the facility. This will include, but is not limited to,
recruitment and selection, employee relations, maintaining all
personnel ! records and files, conducting new hire and employee
benefi! ts orientation, responding to insurance and unemployment
compensation correspondence, employment verifications and organizing
all employee activities and in-services.
MAJOR
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and
directs the facilityâs recruitment activities. Identifies cost
effective strategies for generating qualified applicants for vacant
positions.
Provides advice and counsel to
directors/managers in preventing and intervening in personnel
problems.
Demonstrates consistency in administration of
Human Resource policies and procedures.
Provides support
and guidance to directors/managers in staffing cost effectively.
Maintains familiarity with programming and staff scheduling practices
(clinical and non-clinical departments), and makes specific
recommendations related to staffing patterns that reflect this
understanding within limits of technical knowledge.
C! arries out the Human Resource management activities including
screening and selection, orientation training and development,
performance management and employee relations functions.
Serves as HR Departmentâs fiscal manager.
Ensures all pertinent payroll information, updates, etc. for
each employee is forwarded to the payroll department in a timely
manner. Works with payroll to ensure all payroll issues are handled
in a timely manner.
Monitors and addresses employee
morale by informally maintaining regular contact with various
departments and employees to elicit employeesâ opinions,
feelings and suggestions. Informs CEO and management staff, as
appropriate, of critical observations and conclusions.
Relays benefit information promptly and accurately to
employeesâ by assisting in the open enrollment process and
re-enrollment as necessary. Demonstrates basic understanding of key
benefit pr! ograms and assists employees as needed.
Supports
the facil! ityâs strategic business development efforts by
demonstrating behavior that reflects favorably on the
facilityâs public image. Participates as requested,
communicating input through the appropriate chain-of-command, in
development and implementation of short and long term goals and
objectives.
Participates in the facilityâs senior
management team.
Participates in the facilityâs
administrative on-call rotation.
Supports the
facilityâs internal and external customer service standards by
demonstrating willingness to accept changes in job responsibilities,
offering and accepting constructive feedback in peer and supervisory
relationships modifying behavior in response to the feedback.
Participates in activities which enhance professional growth
and development.
Demonstrates conduct in keeping with the
ethical standards of Kingwood Pines Hospital.
Complies
with! facility safety, infection control and security programs.
Demonstrates attitude and actions that are consistent with
the diversity and sensitivity awareness of Kingwood Pines Hospital.
Honors individual diversity in all interactions with attentiveness,
compassion, concern, dignity, discretion, friendliness, honesty,
professionalism, respect, sincerity and understanding.
Initiates the hiring process, posts positions, runs ads, reviews
candidates and interviews when appropriate through the
Facilityâs applicant tracking system.
Orients new
employees on HR topics and assures that all appropriate documentation
is completed and that orientation is completed within appropriate
time frame.
Maintains Human Resource, training and
medical files and keeps payroll statuses correct.
Oversees
workerâs compensation insurance and OSHA as to meet legal
requirements and assist employees in receiv! ing their appropriate
benefits related in injuries. Reports all cla! ims to companyâs
loss control department in a timely
manner and
ensures that providers receive required insurance information.
Ensures all professional staff (Nurses, Teachers
and Therapists) are licensed as required and that all licenses are
verified in a timely manner. Ensures that current licensure in
maintained throughout employment.
Ensures all direct
care staff are credentialed and privileged to work with appropriate
populations at the beginning of their employment.
Initiate all changes and updates (new hires, terminations, status
changes, etc.) in companyâs HRIS system.
Maintains job descriptions to accurately reflect position duties.
Makes changes as required and distributes copies to appropriate
staff.
Ensures compliance with all Corporate Human
Resource programs.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a!
related field required.
Minimum of five (5) years of
experience in human resource required.
Minimum of one (1)
year of management experience preferred.
Experience in a
healthcare setting preferred.
PHR/SPHR certification
preferred.
Additional Requirements such as: sound
business English usage skills; telephone etiquette and pleasant,
clear voice; flexibility; office prioritization and organizational
skills; analytical decision-making and problem solving skills; adept
in use of various routine office equipment, effective interpersonal
skills; good concentration and stress management skills; able to
handle information as strictly confidential.
