Kingwood Pines Hospital a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful
residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles
northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides
24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, adults
for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services
in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.
Kingwood Pines Hospital currently has a Therapist position available.

The candida! te selected will be responsible for the following:
KEY! RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To maintain documentation of
therapeutic services provided.
2. To provide case management to
assigned patients.
3. To keep psychiatrists and treatment team
informed of patients’ status.
4. To participate in and to
document clinical supervision, if applicable.
5. To attend team
and therapy meetings; to provide consultation to treatment team.
6. To assess all chemical dependency needs of the patient, using
the twelve (12) core functions.
7. To develop treatment plans.

8. To provide clinical programming for patients and families.

9. To complete psychosocial history.
10. To interface
with Utilization Review on a regular basis to determine patient
treatment needs within managed care counseling.

11. To
complete discharge planning requirements.

12. Service

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to assess patient’s
needs for therapeutic services and make appropriate referrals.
Ability to provide appropriate documentation.
Expertise in
language interpretation preferred.

EDUCATION:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related
field.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
  • Current
Texas Driver’s License
  • Current Texas State
Licensure as Professional Counselor
Marriage and Family
Therapist and/or Masters Social Worker
  • Current CPR
  • Current CPI
EXPERIENCE:
  • One (1)
year experience in a psychiatric, behavioral health setting
preferred. Experience may be obtained as an intern.

Hazards:!
  • Participates in therapeutic crisis intervention
  • with physically aggressive patients which may involve some personal
    risk. May encounter some chemicals listed in the MSDS sheets. Travel
    by car and/or air.

    Physical Requirements:
    •
    Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
    with assistance. Manual and finger dexterity. Hand-eye coordination.
    Ability to run. Ability to restrain patients weighing up to 250
    pounds with assistance. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up
    to 50 pounds. Ability to perform CPR. Ability to drive a vehicle.
    Ability to walk 6+ hours daily. Frequent standing, bending, stooping
    and reaching in order to move items or assist patients. Hearing and
    vision sufficient to perform essential function. Emotional stability
    necessary to perform essential functions. Ability to speak clearly.
