Major/Essential Functions
Supports the Service Plus philosophy of TTUHSC . Adheres to institutiona! l and departmental safety policies.
Organizes data concerning patient’s family, medical history, and onset of symptoms obtained from patient, relatives, and other sources such as Correctional Nurse and Correctional Social Workers.
Examines or refer patient to determine general physical condition.
Orders laboratory and other special diagnostic tests and evaluates data obtained.
Determines nature and extent of mental disorder, and formulates treatment program.
Treats or directs treatment of patient, utilizing variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications. Telemedicine is utilized.
This job has potential supervisory responsibilities for physician extenders. Also supervises multi-specialty treatment team.

Qualifications
Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) or equivalent; or more than 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of e! ducation and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS :
! Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY :
Skill in organizing, planning and directing psychological services. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific
thinking to a wide range of intellectual an! d practical problems.
Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific
equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills :
To perform this job successfully, electronic medical record experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :
State Medical license, DEA , DPS .

Correctional Experience.
