To utilize advanced professional skills and abilities in the treatment of patients with various mental health disorders. Responsible for diagnosing, treating, and helping to prevent mental illnesses found ! in a cadre of patients seeking treatment interventions at UT Arlington Health Services.
Essential Functions
Analyze and evaluate patient data and test findings to diagnose nature and extent of mental disorder. Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments. Counsel patients during office visits Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic medications to treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Advise psychiatric residents and psychiatric nurse practitioners working in the mental health department, conduct periodic peer reviews of charts, discuss difficult cases. Provide in-house consultation and continuing education on psychiatry for other UT Arlington Health Services providers

Other functions as assigned.
Required qualifications
Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in any discipline, a graduate degree of Doctor of Medicine from a fully accredite! d medical school, and four years of post-doctoral training as ! a psychiatry resident in a program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. In addition, the candidate must be board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. and licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
