The Center for Health Care Services in San Antonio, Texas is searching for a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Psychiatrist to join our team in Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health Outpatient clinic setting Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday or our Crisis Care Center.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Psychiatrist is responsible for conducting psychiatric examinations, prescribing and monitoring of psychotropic medications, and oth! er consumer/patient related services, and completing associate! d documentation. Psychiatrist may also provide supervision of Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS â€" PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Conducts psychiatric examinations and review collateral information of assigned patients in accordance with applicable guidelines.

Prescribes psychotropic medications in accordance with the Centers Prescribing Practices Policies and Procedures to treat psychiatric illness; order labs in accordance with recommended guidelines

Completes physician's certificates or other documentation for involuntary treatment in accordance with applicable laws and the Mental Health Code.

Evaluates urgent psychiatrics patients in a competent and timely manner. Complies with commitment laws 100% of the time

Complies with Center's EMR requirements as established and modified from time to time.

Performs Medicaid Administration Claiming (MAC) Time Study on a quarterly basis, and Participates in the Center's cost containment efforts

Responds to patients and families when requested or needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE (CREDENTIALS), EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Minimum requirements
Current Texas Physician's permit, Texas Department of Public Safety Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (DPS), and U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency Substance Registration Certificate (DEA)
Must be Board Eligible
Completion of an accredited Psychiatric Residency Program and/or a Child and Adolescent Fellowship
Must apply to be credentialed with all Center contracted payors
Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications and EMR systems
PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE (CREDENTIALS), EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Preferred requirements
Board certification
Additional fellowship training.
