- Psychiatrists work both inpatient and outpatient on the same 13 acre campus
- Inpatient case load is approximately 8-14 and rounds are made in the morning including treatment team meetings twice per week
- Outpatient/ clinic hours are usually in the afternoon. We generally allow the provider one hour for new patients in the clinic and 15 minutes for repeat med checks. The expectation is a minimum of four patients per hour in the clinic if NOT a new patient.
- On call responsibilities are every fourth weekend (three weekends totally off per month). When it’s “your weekend†the provider will be busy and be on call for the hospital concerning admissions, round on half the inpatient population Saturday and the other half on Sunday â€" will also address any psychiatric emergencies.
- On call 1 or 2 nights week
- In the State of TX it is law that an MD must eyeball prospective patient (s) at intake. We provide a web cam so providers do not have to report to the hospital during non-business hours â€" they can web cam from their home.
- 4 internal docs that perform all H&Ps and sick call
