We are currently seeking a full-time Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatry at various locations throughout the state of Texas. The locations could include San Antonio, Austin, and/or Killeen, Texas.To apply, please visit: [Click Job Title to Apply]The ARNP - Psychiatry will provide short-term, face-to-face therapeutic assessments and counseling. Some of the most common issues the ARNP - Psychiatry will address (but are not limited to): •Family problems•Marital problems•Drug/alcohol abuse and dependency•Depression•Anxiety•Stress/Tension•Grief•Child and adolescent problemsThe ARNP - Psychiatry will provide psychiatric nursing care as a case manager and is the liaison and advocate for patients by assisting in coordinating continuing care for those with acute and chronic psychiatric problems. The ARNP - Psychiatry will participate as a member of the Department of Behavioral Medicine, Psychiatry Service within the context of! a multidisciplinary team that coordinates care for psychiatri! c patients. Activities include, but are not limited to, the following: •Assist patients/family members in accessing the appropriate level of psychiatric problems.•Collaborate with families, case managers, discharge planning and multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate utilization of health care resources.•Perform direct patient care to include: conducting psychiatric triage; performing psychiatric-assessments to determine appropriate diagnostic impress according to current guidance.•Determine appropriate patient disposition (admission or outpatient care); educating patients and family members, and significant others about the illness/condition, medication, and available resource. Administering prescribed medications; facilitating groups; and providing patient counseling. The ARNP - Psychiatry will generally work 32 hours per week to provide direct face-to-face counseling and 3 hours of paperwork/marketing. Office space, administrative services such as answering ! the phone, scheduling and billing are provided by the administrative team in San Antonio. (It is imperative that the minimum of 32 hours of direct face-to-face counseling is maintained on an average basis.)Education. Master\\\'s Degree and Licensure of an MSN, MHSA, APRN-BC and/or an equivalentExperience. Have sufficient experience to be able to adequately perform the tasks identified. Minimum of one year of experience within the last three years caring for psychiatric patients. Have sufficient experience and training to effectively provide psychological services for patients and family members as it relates to the practice of clinical/counseling psychology and clinical/behavioral health psychology.License. Current active unencumbered license from any state.Certification. Have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) by the American Heart Association. CISD Certified is a plus. Initial Assessment with Medication Management Follow-upTraining. Co! ntract Psychiatric Nurse must have successfully completed competency-ba! sed training on the following tasks: •Application and use of restraints•Performing Mental Status Exams•Completing a psychiatric nursing assessment on admission•Conducting community meetings•Facilitating task and education groups•Co-facilitating group therapy•Performing Special Watch ProceduresPass the NLN Psychiatric Medication Test with a minimum score of 80 percent.Possess the knowledge and actions and dosages of most commonly used psychotropic medications.
