Salary Negotiable
! Bachelor's degree with minimum six (6) hours in accounting and two (2) years professional experience in governmental and/or commercial accounting.
Verifies postings in ledgers and journals for accuracy and compliance with prescribed accounting procedures.
Prepares trial balances of general ledgers to ensure debits and credits balance, verifying entries with source data to resolve discrepancies.
Compiles data and prepares spreadsheets related to various financial activities.
Furnishes data for general ledger accounts for correctness of income and/or expenses and for maintenance of adequate balances; reconciles monthly and annual salary reports.
Assists in development and implementation of new or revised accounting and operational procedures.
May compile and prepare monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports as required.
May prepare and/or approve various on-line expenditures, journal vouchers etc.
May pro! vide working supervision to Account Clerk and/or Accountant I ! positions.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
For the Department of Psychiatry: Monthly reconciliation of assigned departmental (non-divisional) accounts/subledgers. Subledger Maintenance. Maintain departmental subledger chart. Manage overdrafts, encumbrances, PI changes, consolidation, expiration date/subledger demographic issues, etc. ER Payroll. Calculate the shift differential payments, on-call pay, meeting/practical education pay, pro-rated VSL and Holiday adjustments for all faculty working in the Parkland Psychiatry Emergency Room. Calculate ER %-times for each faculty member for Annual Budget Process and other ad hoc needs. Explain ER payroll to faculty clinicians and answer their questions. Initiate and/or review paper and electronic financial transactions as assigned. Initiate and/or review personnel/payroll transactions as assigned. Prepare depart! mental financial reports (financial profiles) for assigned cost centers; submit for review and revise if needed. Present profiles and related information to department management and to PI's. Trouble-shoot issues or errors discovered during profile preparation and review process General Financial Affairs duties and special projects as assigned : Calculate budgets, reconciliations, reports, and/or true-ups for inter-departmental clinical programs. Participate in FAO staff meetings and other meetings as assigned; participate in establishing policies and procedures. Participate in annual budget process, PeopleSoft planning & implementation tasks, and other special projects throughout the year as assigned. Assist with preparation and of MSP Reports as assigned. Assist and back up other FAO staff as assigned on FAO tasks. Create, maintain and organize high-quality paper and electronic records of work.
