More details about this vacancy opportunity kindly see the descriptions. : Functions as a primary care provider maintaining and promoting the health of the patient. Affects direct patient care according to the nurse practice act of the State of Texas and The Methodist Standards of Nursi! ng Care policies and procedures. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinates appropriate, timely patient care under physician supervision.
Works under the supervision of the Transplant Psychiatrist and collaborates with clinical providers to provide evaluation, medication management and psychotherapeutic interventions to Transplant patients. 2. Will perform psychiatric and psychosocial assessment and management of patients and families in the transplant program. Coordinates patient care between healthcare providers.
Rounds with physicians/surgeons and attends unit interdisciplinary rounds. 3. Provides psychotherapy and behavioral interventions in individual, group, and family settings. Conducts comprehensive health assessments, identifies normal/abnormal health characteristics, develops plan of care, initiates appropriate interventions, and evaluates care outcomes on defined patient populations.
4. Provides education to the patient and family as w! ell as participate in instruction to nursing and other health ! professionals about psychiatric illness and its management. Performs delegated functions under physician supervision, such as differential diagnosis, use of prescriptive authority, and treatment according to practice guidelines, protocols, and/r standing orders. Accepts accountability for outcomes in health care.
5. Performs invasive diagnostic or therapeutic procedures necessary for defined patient populations. 6. Uses critical thinking skills and clinical judgment to work autonomously as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.
Collaborates with healthcare team members to manage/coordinate patient care. 7. Serves as a liaison between Psychiatry and other services such as nursing or social work. Demonstrates leadership as clinical resource, interdisciplinary consult, and patient advocate.
Serves as preceptor for Nurse practitioner students and medical resident(s). 8. Promotes quality health care through integration of current research into practice and! participation in research efforts in Transplant Psychiatry to further the field of Organ Transplantation. 9.
Maintains current licensure and credentials. Remains current in practice. 10. Participates in professional activities such as research, presentations, and publications.
11. Demonstrates the components of ICARE. 12. Demonstrates ServicePride Standards.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising Transplant Psychiatrist or the Transplant program. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree in Nursing. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Required minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
Preferred minimum of 2 years in Advanced Practice role. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Registered Nurse with current Texas license Credentialed by the Texas Board of Nursing as Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriptive authority privileges through the State of Texas CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED: Registered Nurse! with current Texas licensure WORKING : Normal office conditions
