Location: Laughlin Air Force Base

Position: Psychiatrist - Board Certified (Involves Telepsychiatry)

Global Consulting International seeks candidates for a full time position providing Board Certified Psychiatrist services to the men and women of the United States Air Force and their families at Laughlin AFB in Texas.

SUMMARY. Examines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders.

1. QUALIFICATIONS.

1.1 Experience. At least 24 months of experience within the last 36 months.

1.2 Current board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

1.3 Completion of residency or fellowship in psychiatry acceptable to the Surgeon General, HQ USAF.

Addendum - Air Force Medical Service Telepsychiatry Initiative

  • The Military Treatment Facility (MTF) where the psychiatrist performs will provide equipment, training and policy guidance regarding the delivery and documentation of clinic! al psychiatric services and consultation to Air Force MTF's wi! thin the 50 United States and Guam.
  • Will provide a minimum of 50% of clinical time to telepsychiatry support across the Air Force Medical Service. Depending on Air Force mission requirements, this telepsychiatry support could be expected to exceed 80%when covering for active duty psychiatry deployments. The Government supervisor will extablish the schedule for clinic support at the MTF where assigned when not actively providing telepsychiatry support. This clinic support may include managing patients in collaboration with other mental health providers or primary care providers at the assigned MTF.
2. TYPE OF WORK. The duties include but are not limited to the following:

2.1 Examines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders.

2.2 Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains and evaluates data through interview techniques.

2.3 Diagnoses psychiatric disorders.

2.4 Prescribes and evaluates effectiveness of! a wide range of therapeutic measures.

2.5 Recommends disposition of psychiatric cases.

2.6 Advises on problems related to mental health and prevention of mental disorders.

2.7 Serves as medical and psychiatric consultant to clinical psychologists and clinical social workers.

2.8 Advises on kind and quantity of psychiatric supplies and equipment.

2.9 Coordinates psychiatric services with other medical activities.

2.10 Instructs
