Job Summary
POSITION TITLE: Psychiatrist - Medical Director - (Contract)
(Hiring Waiting on State Contract. This is Pre- Employment Screening Contract)
PROGRAM: Mental Health Rehabilitation
REPORTS TO: Program Director, Executive Director
SUPERVISED BY: Board of Directors, Executive Director
RESPONSIBILITIES : Board Certified Psychiatrist, Board Certified Medical Physician with a minimum of 2 years experience in treatment of Psychiatric and Behavioral Disorders.
Have a face-to-face interview with the recipient at initial assessment/Mental Status Exam.
- Review and sign the Medical History Questionnaire section of the initial assessment during a face-to-face contact.
- Review and sign the ISRP at initial assessment and reassessment.
- Review and sign the Electronic Clinical Data Inquiry (e-CDI) screen print. If no data is available, the screen print must also be signed.
- Be available to participate in crisis intervention emergencies.
- Provide face-to-face, medically necessary, services on site for each recipient who has selected the provider’s staff medical director. If consultation or a service with a recipient is not required on a monthly basis, the medical director must provide documentation of the rationale for a reduction in the frequency of services.
- Consult with nurses and other clinic personnel and community agency personnel to develop social diagnosis and plan of treatment or service and to interpret psycho-social factors related to illness, treatment and continuity of care needs.
- Provide assistance in an interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary team approach to diagnosis, plan, and provide treatment.
- Assist in arranging for and the coordination of delivery of services in the broader community to address continuity of care needs.
- Provide medication management, training, and education to recipients and staff.
- Document services provided in accordance with clinical standards.
- Participate as a member of staff, work unit and/or department committee in programs and resource activities.
- Submit legible progress notes within 24 hours of seeing recipient with proper documentation and appropriate signatures.
- Return phone calls promptly.
- Follow all safety rules.
- Actively participate in all evaluations conducted by our company
- Actively participate in crisis interventions.
- Has responsibility for oversight of medical aspects of the programs.
- Has responsibility for oversight of the clinical quality of organizational services.
- Has a positive attitude that is conducive to a stress-free atmosphere.
Minimum Qualifications: A Medical director as defined by the MHR Rule.
