Rock Prairie Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced Admissions Clinician with a behavioral health background. This is a vital position responsible for responding with appropriate guidance to those in crisis and seeking support with a mental health concern. This position promotes and contributes to our mission, vision and beliefs by:
- Employing a knowledge of mental health disorders through telephone and in-person assessment presenting viable treatment options;
- Interpreting acuity indicators and referring patients to appropriate level of care;
- Presenting an accurate clinical summary to payers for preauthorization, the admitting psychiatrist, external referral sources and service teams;
- Obtaining agreement and written authorization from the patient or legal guardian;
- Ensuring measures of comfort and safety during the admission process
- Follows up with referring professionals in support of continuity of care
Requirements of this Position:
Master’s d egree in social work, counseling, psychology, mental health or related field required OR Texas RN license. LPC, LPC-I, LMSW, or LCSW by State of Texas preferred. Prior experience performing clinical assessments, obtaining authorization for treatment, crisis management and facilitating hospital admissions are all considered complimentary to the position's success.
