The psychologist in this position will provide clinical services, supervision of trainees, research, and program developmen! t for the hospital’s Pediatric Eating Disorders Program. As a member of the Eating Disorders Program team, the psychologist will evaluate and provide intervention services to patients who receive their care in this service at CMC. Patients are offered a full spectrum of care from inpatient hospitalization and partial hospitalization to day treatment, an intensive outpatient program, and outpatient treatment. The psychologist plays an integral role as a team member, providing evaluation, testing, individual and group therapy, and working with a multidisciplinary team of child psychiatrists, family therapists, nurses, school teachers, and milieu therapists. An important responsibility of the position will be collaboration with the team to design a program of clinical research. Supervision of psychologists in training at the pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship levels is also a part of the position. The psychologist chosen for the position will be considered f! or a faculty appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at UT! Southwestern.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluation and intervention for children and adolescents within pediatric eating disorders program
Design and implementation of clinical research program
Consultation with multidisciplinary staff and external agencies
Supervision and teaching of psychology trainees
Qualifications
Education
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program
Postdoctoral fellowship training in clinical child or pediatric health psychology, with completion of fellowship no later than August 2013
Internship training from an APA-accredited program in clinical child or pediatric health psychology required
Licenses & certifications
A passing score on the EPPP at the level required for licensure by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
Full license in Texas or out-of-state license with Provisional Licensure in Texas by date of hire!
